Bringing your family

If you have a Residence permit in Lithuania, then on this basis, your spouse and children (under 18 years of age) have a right to apply for their Residence permit only after you have lived in Lithuania during the last two years.

If you wish to apply for Residence permit for your spouse and children (under 18 years of age) from the very beginning, then you have the following options:

1. You apply for TRP through a company.

or

2. You apply for TRP through a branch and your bruto salary is not less than 1 646 €*.

or

3. The spouses may always apply for Residence permit separately, i.e. each one of them, because of running their own business in Lithuania.

Children

When both parents apply for their Residence permits, their children (under 18 years of age) have a right to obtain a Residence permit also. Please be aware that children do not obtain their Residence permit automatically, and a separate application must be filed on their behalf.

If only one of the spouses has a Residence permit, then the children (under 18 years of age) also have a right to obtain a Residence permit in Lithuania. In this case, you will need a document stating that the second spouse is not against this decision.

* The salary should not be less than the sum of 2 bruto average wages. In the IV quarter of 2016, the bruto average wage was 822,80 €.
